Wittgenstein Source Bergen Text Edition (BTE) provides access to transcriptions and editions of the following items of the Wittgenstein Nachlass:
• the Notes on Logic complex: Ts-201a1, Ts-201a2 (1913-14)
• the Lecture on Ethics complex: Ms-139a, Ts-207 (1929)
• the Big Typescript complex: Ms-115(first part), Ms-148, Ms-149, Ms-150, Ms-153a, Ms-153b, Ms-154, Ms-155, Ms-156a, Ts-212, Ts-213 (1931-34)
• the Brown Book complex: Ms-115(second part), Ms-140(p.40), Ms-141, Ms152, Ts-310 (1934-36)
BTE is based on WAB's transcriptions of the Wittgenstein Nachlass (WAB's machine-readable version of the Nachlass, 1990-). Editorial outputs of these transcriptions have been published before in "Wittgenstein's Nachlass: The Bergen Electronic Edition" (OUP 2000). For their inclusion in Wittgenstein Source, the markup of the transcriptions was transferred from MECS-WIT to TEI(P5) guided XML, and special XSL stylesheets were designed in order to create editorial outputs. Unfortunately, it was not possible to carefully proofread and correct the underlying transcriptions for all the texts included here. Mistakes and deficiencies, which are contained in "Wittgenstein's Nachlass: The Bergen Electronic Edition", are here therefore corrected only in part. For information about mistakes and deficiencies, please contact us. Corrections will be implemented as soon as possible.
